I've said before, it's difficult to fully appreciate the beauty of this area without seeing it by sea and air. This photograph is just a small section of an aerial photograph taken in 1972. Visible are most of Fidalgo, Guemes and the San Juan islands. This photograph is on display at the Commercial Avenue office of the Port of Anacortes. I've see a similar beauty in the foyer of the administration building at Tesoro refinery (the refinery on the tip of March's Point in the center of this photo).Saturday, February 27, 2010
