Anacortes School Board member Kris Lytton, pictured here at summertime all-class reunion at Anacortes High School, has announced she will run for the state House of Representatives position being vacated by Democrat Dave Quall of Mount Vernon. Lytton joins former county party leader Tom Pasma of Bow on the list of Democrats pondering a 2010 campaign. Already signed up with the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) as a candidate for Quall's position is Republican Mike Newman of Mount Vernon. Newman has been campaigning since his November 2009 announcement (http://www.mikenewman2010.com/). This one could get interesting, especially in a year when economic turmoil and a clash of political philosophies are already detonating fireworks from the grassroots level all the way to the halls of the U.S. Congress. Anyone out there motivated enough to take on state Rep. Jeff Morris, an unrepentant advocate of increased taxes?
