Deception Pass Bridge celebration

Join in the celebration on Saturday, July 31 as the Deception Pass State Park Foundation celebrates the 75th anniversary of the bridge. See http://www.deceptionpassfoundation.org/ for details. The biggest challenge of the day will be finding a parking spot and a way to travel from park to bridge, which will be close for just one minute to mark the anniversary. I'll be there. I remember my Grandpa and Dad telling the story of driving over the bridge with a flat tire on opening day in 1935. As is the case the case today, there is no place to pull over on the narrow bridge, and the crowd for the bridge opening was large.
