Salvation Army Anacortes Corps officers Carol and Jerold Forney this week received a retirement gift from members of their volunteer Advisory Board. The Forneys, who have spent the past five years at the helm of the Anacortes Corps, will retire to Missouri at the end of the month. Their gift was a photograph of Fidalgo Bay, Cap Sante and Mt. Baker, a view they enjoyed from the second floor of the "R" Avenue Salvation Army facility. Among many accomplishments during the "Forney administration" was the expansion of social services/food bank into a neighboring condo space. "We shall remember fondly these five years in the Northwest, and so many people we have met," said Major Jerold. "I am sure that we will keep involved with the Salvation Army."
