Freedom on the water

I've never owned a boat, but I've enjoyed many owned by others ... both as a guest on board, and as a "vicarious" adventurer watching from the shore. I escaped the heat of the house Monday evening on a drive that took me to the crest of Cap Sante. I could hear light conversation among the crew of the two-masted "Freedom," moving very slowly up the Guemes Channel. Minutes later, the boat sailed past as I shot photos of Port of Anacortes facilities. The San Juans beckon...
